LPT: Learn to fix things you own
My dad taught me to fix things that I own and to keep them in good condition. In our society we’ve become such consumers as soon as something stops working we replace it. I’ve wanted to do this a lot. Recently my computer that I’ve had since college slowed down. I’ve had this computer for 6 years now. It was to the point to where I wanted to just throw it out and upgrade. But I sat down (mainly because I don’t have too much cash) and just started working on it. Sitting through the slow update, uninstalls, etc. Seriously everything took hours. But when I was done it felt good and now I can use this computer some more without buying a new one.
Really google and YouTube have so much information. No need to throw things out at the first sign of decay.
