Creators of Aeon Trespass: Odyssey call out Quackalope for essentially blackmailing them
For context, Quackalope is a boardgame youtube channel with 48k subscribers that primarily do content of upcoming kickstarters, most of it sponsored. The sponsored content has the youtube "Includes paid promotion" rectangle overlay in the corner of the video but no mention of it in the actual content of the video.
Aeon Trespass: Odyssey is a huge campaign game that seems to be a mix between Kingdom Death Monster fights and Tainted Grail overmap. I have not played it so if that is not an accurate description I apologize. They are running a second printing Kickstarter right now.
Quackalope has been running a series of videos on Aeon Trespass. Every video starts with Quackalope saying that they contacted Into The Unknown, the makers of the game, to do sponsored content, they never answered and so now they got a friend to come and explain/play the game with them.

In it they call Aeon Trespass Odyssey possibly the worst game they have ever played and nigh unplayable.
Yesterday Into the Unknown, makers of the game, posted this as a response to someone talking about the negative Quackalope video on their kickstarter.
"Not if, for example, a YouTuber contants you months in advance o say they've shot the content, don't like the game, but they can reshoot it for $7500. We would not respond well to such a proposition ;) In fact, we would never work with someone like that again."
Into the Unknown later says they have the receipts if it came down to it.
Some would say using the word blackmail is harsh. To me telling a publisher hey our popular youtube channel has negative content coming up for your kickstarter, but if you pay us it will go away is pretty much the definition of blackmail. Pay us off or pay the consequences.
