Facebook Marketplace has destroyed the casual "see what cool cars are for sale"
I have today off and was sitting at my computer just scrolling aimlessly. For ~15+ years my go-to bored browsing activity was scrolling craigslist, seeing what cool cars are for sale. It took about 5 minutes to see all the cars I'm interested in their, so I moved to Facebook Marketplace.
What an absolute shit product. There is no way to actually query on there.
Take a look at this https://imgur.com/la4MtJH. Model defined as "Porsche" and yet they show a Fiat, Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen and Subaru. I've found cars on there, closed the tab, opened it up again and searched the exact name and absolutely could not find the same listing again.
Its a bummer to me because Craigslist is so easy to put in good queries. If you only want to see manual transmission Volkswagens from 1984 and below, it takes 30 seconds and you're on your way.
In a way, this is just another flavored "Facebook sucks" post, but I'm sure as car enthusiasts we can all be nostalgic for the days of cruising the cars section on craigslist, dreaming about projects.
Anyway, rant over. Back to wade through the trash on Facebook
