LPT: Set up an alias for your email accounts (if offered by your email provider) If your email provider offers an alias feature (I know Microsoft has it), setting up an alias will prevent you from getting your email account potentially hacked, especially if you have been noticing multiple unsuccessful login attempts under your login activity (aka bruteforcing).To set up an alias, you would go to the info section of your settings and there should be a section that will let you add an additional email address for your account. Next, create a completely new email address that has not been used for any accounts. This is important since these bruteforce and hacking activities occur from phishing scams and data breaches, so if your alias has never been on the internet before then there will be no way for hackers to figure out this alias.Afterwards, you would set that new alias as the primary alias, and uncheck your main email address as an option for logging into your email account. This means that you can still keep your original email address, but hackers will not be able to use that original email address when attempting to log into your account because it will state 'account does not exist with that email'.Will you still be able to send and receive emails with your original email address using this method? For Microsoft, definitely yes! The original email address still belongs to you. The alias only affects the login credentials. As for other email providers, I'm not entirely sure.
