Quicksilver! the whole baroque cycle - really good. Trippy to read historical fiction written with modern humor and irony. Great characters, fast moving interwoven plots, hilarious dialog and a fascinating look at science, history, and life and death (from the court in Versailles and the Royal Mint in the Tower to the black plague, slave galley ships... it's a romp.)
