Always welcome new connections and reach out to them with something fun, encouraging or informative. Do Not make your first ever post to them a sales pitch. I’m using LinkedIn a lot to connect with and grow my network. Sometimes it can feel awkward to kick off a brand new connection there. How do you make the transition from a LinkedIn connection to a fruitful relationship? What I do is extend a small gesture of appreciation. The first thing I send is "Thank you for connecting. I am just curious, why did you choose me?" It often facilitates a conversation that leads to a new introduction. A more personal and transparent discussion. Weather I receive a response or not to the first post, I send a second one. I include something that recently "hit me". Here are three examples: -------------------------------------------------- 1. I am from Boston. As you may know, now I live in Thailand and the town I live in is Borsang. It is as close to Boston as I can get. Boston is a great Sports town. I was listening to a Boston Radio Station and heard a great line. I agree with it too. What I heard on the Radio was, "On a scale of one to ten people from Boston are going for a fifteen". Well I am from Boston and in my life and business I am going for a 15. Go Big. I am going Big, Are you going big? 2. Jim Rohn said, "We get paid to bring Value to the Marketplace. It takes time...But we get paid for the value, not the time. Increase your value. http://www.syrwebdesign.com/r/geo/JimR Want to increase your value, learn things others need and want to learn, bring value by knowing those things and helping others to succeed? 3. I listened to a podcast on the Four C's of Success. Commitment Courage Capability Confidence Most of us want to start at the end, Confidence. That is what really creates success But we must move through the first 3 to get to the 4th. -------------------------------------------------- On that Third one I have a follow up comment on all four "C's" This helps me engage a prospect, a new contact and their response informs my follow up. Do not start your first post with a sales pitch. Here is a bunch of Twitter Posts. I make both Value Content and Product promotions. They can be adapted to any social media platform. https://www.servethailand.com/SFI/CP_TweetThis.html
