Jasmine flowers have been used since ancient times in India, China and the mystical East for ceremonial purposes, as religious offerings and to perfume hair oils and the like. The name Jasmine is of Arabic origin and is believed to be derived from Yasmin. It is said that its popularity peaked in the cantons and metropolises of southern China between two and five hundred years ago jasmine is the national flower of Pakistan
