Got my first Iron Butt ride in a few weeks. Any tips?
One thousand miles in one day. What could go wrong? No, seriously, what should I prepare for? Any tips, tricks, hacks, and advice from any of you IBA members? What are some lessons you learned the hard way doing it? Was there anything that happened which ruined the run? Any quality of life creature comforts I should consider?
My route takes me down the length of California, through Death Valley, and ending at the Grand Canyon, and I know the late summer-early fall temperature through the desert is going to be brutal. I'll be on an Indian Scout 101, and my friend joining me will be on a Sporty 883.
I'd love to hear your stories, because I'm starting to get into my own head about it. I'm excited, but nervous....
