Why do so many LatAm classics have protagonists who are writers?
I don’t think I’ve seen this in any other culture’s writings. Protagonists in LatAm fiction seem to be poets, novelists, etc.
It’s known that you write what you know, but you’d think that’s all LatAm knows or something, at least prior to 2000 or so.
Any insight into why this is?
