The number one component in relationships is communication. You have to be able to communicate with the other person.
But most don’t realize that the biggest component of communication is listening. True intuitive listening.
Not the sub-level listen that most do just to be able to respond. Intuitive listening at a level that you can actually allow the person talking to feel like they are being heard and understood. Not judged.
This whole world has become reactive. We ask questions framed up to when someone responds, we were just waiting so we could respond ourselves. Not listening hardly at all to their response. Not taking in their information or ideas. Not judging them. But always stating our opinions without allowing the other person the space to be heard.
This is where I see so many relationships fail. Not just love interests, but business relationships too. All relationships depend on communication. Not just expressing ourselves, but willing and able to listen and hear others without the automatic response to state our opinions without consideration of others. Without taking in the information and listening of others without judgement or responding immediately.
Look at all your relationships. Do you allow others the space to be heard? Or are you always just waiting to respond with your opinion? Being honest with these questions may allow you to increase the quality of all your relationships by being mindful and present and intuitively listening more to others.
Allow others to be heard will always lead to better communication which will always lead to better relationships.
Try to listen better today.
