Sharing some positive vibes
Just wanted to share a little positive vibes right now. So I posted a few days ago that I was brand new to gaming at 34 years old, never touched any sort of video game in my life. My therapist and support group suggested gaming as a hobby since I am disabled now and living with chronic health conditions that set in a few years ago and have left me home/bed bound a deal of the time, unable to work, play sports or any of the active lifestyle I had before. So I got a Series S and two controllers off Marketplace for 150 $ locally which was a really good deal for someone on a very fixed income now like myself. So the update is I have been absolutely loving the console and gaming so far! I had got a few games that were on sale, Assassin’s Creed : Ezio Trilogy, Halo Master Chief Collection and Hogwarts Legacy. I started with AC and oh my how I am loving it! AC2 by the way is what I started with, I can’t play that long as I get fatigued pretty fast due to my health stuff and meds, and take lots of naps. But being doing an hour or two a day and loving it. It has been the first escape or just like a break from reality, the constant pain and depression of just thinking about everything I have lost/what will happen in my future that I had had since getting sick. I just get to go live a whole other life where I’m not sick, where I can run on rooftops and go on adventures and just be alive again. I don’t know how to explain it, it’s just nice to escape away for a little bit and be anyone but me. I just wanted to share that because I’m new around here and to gaming, I’ve been seeing a lot of the talk the past few days and seems people are in a really negative place, including some of the gaming content I started to follow on YouTube have been pretty negative and all about Xbox. To be fair I’m new as I said, I don’t really understand what is going on that much anyways. I just know for me in this moment all that matter is I have found a new form of joy in my life through getting into gaming, and I haven’t felt any kind of joy in a very long time. I hope amongst the negative you all can find some joy in gaming and getting a break from reality too. 🙂
