I choosed this book The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick . This book, while being a hypothetical, what if, is chilling because Dick is letting society know, that the reality we live in can shift in a moment. Once the scariest people manipulate themselves into positions of power, the aftermath they create is not so easy to escape.
