Sri Lankan monks arrested after cannabis discovered in luggage
Authorities in Sri Lanka arrested *22 Buddhist monks at the country’s main airport* after discovering about **110 kg of cannabis hidden in their luggage**, concealed in modified suitcases. The group had just returned from a trip to Thailand that investigators suspect was organized as part of a smuggling operation, with a possible coordinator also detained. Some monks may not have known they were carrying drugs, and the case remains under investigation.
