I hope you guys can give me recommendations on what dishes to cook with dried shrimps that Germans may like.
So I come from Asia and my parents have gifted my German friend a bag of dried shrimps. Dried shrimps are, as the name suggests, shrimps whose heads are removed, boiled, then dried. They have a really sweet umami flavour, but is hard to chew if you eat it straight out of the bag. I usually make fried rice with them or add them to soups with veggies to make it sweeter.
My friend seems to want to try it out now, and I have no recommendations on what German dish he can cook with it 😅. He does NOT seem to be a big fan of Asian cuisine by the way. He usually only eat German dishes, or dishes with less extreme seasonings than Asian dishes (like sausage, bread with fresh cheese, salami, Raclette). I feel like he doesnt like extreme tastes and smells too.
I never tasted those but maybe try to cut them into smaller pieces and sprinkle them on onionsoup. Or make an asian version of caesar salad. Replace thuna with shrimps.
