PUNCTUATION IN SPACE❗
NASA on Tuesday shared an image of two interacting galaxies that resemble an exclamation mark.
The space agency’s Chandra X-ray Observatory and Hubble Space telescopes combined the data of two galaxies, called Arp 302, to produce the image.
“The duo, also known as Arp 302, will merge in millions of years. X-ray data from Chandra shows that the top galaxy (the stem of the exclamation mark) contains a rapidly growing supermassive black hole that is heavily obscured by dust and gas. Other data shows that the two interacting galaxies are evolving at different rates,” NASA wrote in an Instagram post. (Instagram/NASA)
