Is it just me, or are "smart" fans a total trap? I just want something that lasts.
I’m in the market for a new ceiling fan, but it feels like everything is "smart" these days—app controls, Wi-Fi connectivity, and all these over-the-top remotes.
Why do we need so many electronic components just to spin some blades? I can't help but think these fans—relying on circuit boards and Wi-Fi modules—are going to have a much higher failure rate compared to a simple, old-school mechanical fan.
Look, I get it—some of the bells and whistles are actually pretty tempting. But if I'm paying a premium for these features, I have no idea if the thing will even work 10 years from now. I mean, will the app even be supported by then? #lifestyle
