Not only is Naples the self-titled "Golf Capital of the World," as it has the second most holes per capita out of all communities, and the most holes of any city in Florida, it has a wonderful coastline.
The recreational area on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico is more than 10 miles (16 km) long and is known for its cleanliness and pristine white " granular material composed of finely divided mineral particles ." In 2005, Naples was voted the best all-around shoreline in America by the Travel Channel .
