“Public Office” Polish Citizenship by Descent
Hi everyone!
I have a pre 1920 case and after extensive research and document searching we have determined we do qualify for polish confirmation of citizenship pending one possible snag. My grandfather was a ramp bag loader for Northwest airlines in 1943. The airline was privately owned, received no public funding. The lawyers in Poland let me know that my case does now carry “risk” as the government of Poland may see it as accepting public office as, at the time, in Poland airlines were managed by the polish authorities despite being private in the United States.
Does anyone else have any further insight into “holding public office” it’s a broad law and online you see the same drab about politicians, public teachers, and public health workers, rabbis, etc. I was surprised to hear it may extend to private companies which were public in Poland as that would exclude blue collar steel workers too. Has anyone else run into this and had a positive outcome?
