Melodic progressive house and trance with the soft repetitive 8th-note synth pluck (I’m guessing LFO-modulated) and side-chained kick.
I noticed this style being super popular around 2007-2010. I’ve never heard a track with this before this era and it’s popular tanked after, when trance left the mainstream and the whole beatport calling bigroom electro house, progressive house, happened.
Ishkur’s Guide brought this whole thing to my attention. I’ve read several threads about this before but wanted some more opinions from you guys.
The earliest track I’ve heard with this specific style was deadmau5’s Faxing Berlin in 2006. Additionally Ishkur’s Guide tacitly credits (or rather blames, however you want to see it) deadmau5 as “Joel” for having created or at least popularised this style. But honestly I’m not too qualified to say my belief is unbiased considering I’m a massive deadmau5 fan. #music source
