I had my pc not posting after randomly losing power last saturday, after checking everything i could without being anxious about breaking it I brought it into a shop. It was $65 for it to be diagnosed that Thursday they call me telling me that they believe its the psu and will have to order one as they didnt have one. I wait patiently come today they call me and tell me they put new ram in and it was posting and all up and ready to go and it would be $485 + $200 to change the thermal paste on the cpu. Immediate red flags for me if theyre trying to charge me $200 to change thermal paste and told me they didnt mean to call me thursday and didnt order a psu. Just curious if this is the norm or am i justified to be a little ticked because i tried asking them what they did to determine my ram was the issue and what tests they ran and they just told me i fried the ram :/ #technology source
