Sell files or scale to production?
Hi! I’m a recent graduate from Mexico City. Recently I developed a product for diecast car models with 3d printing.
Since there’s nothing like this out there I started the process of patenting a few months ago, it’s still in process
For those who have developed a 3d printed product, what has worked better for you to monetize your invention? Is selling the stl files a good option? Have you succeed on mass produce your design?
I’ve been selling them in Mexico but I’d like to expand to other countries, because of expensive shipping and exportation taxes I haven’t sold any piece outside Mexico. Also assembly is very time consuming, one road takes almost 2 hours to build
I had great response from people in the diecast community on instagram so I think this project has potential to explode
Also, if anyone interested in collaborate or have some business ideas I’m open to proposals:)
