I live in Texas, quite a few state parks have a no drone “rule”. They say there is a process to get a permit, but it’s a load of bull. As soon as you start asking questions you get really poor excuses, if any answer at all.
At the end of they say what they really should just say is you can’t operate a drone from their land.
However, most state parks have navigable rivers. It’s my understanding that rivers are public and not owned by state parks.
So if I had a two person canoe, went to the water, had someone paddle me out and I took off, flew, and landed in the canoe, that to say operated the drone from public water and not state park land. Would that effectively skirt the rule?
Assuming all other laws followed? For example LOS, not flying over people, etc?
