Am I allowed to keep spiders and snakes as a pet in a rented apartment?
Will move out of my own home soon and to keep me company, I plan to get a pet.
The contract states that keeping or temporarily housing animals is prohibited, but this does not apply to so-called "small animals" (specifically named example in the contract are ornamental fish, canaries, turtles, etc.). These can be kept within reasonable limits, taking into account the legitimate interests of the other residents of the rental property.
So, do spiders (specifically tarantulas) and snakes (probably a corn snake or a ball python, haven't decided yet but both are not venomous) also fall under that clause, or are they seen as a regular pet and are thereby prohibited? #local source
