DP World in Tanzania: The UAE firm taking over Africa's ports
UAE maritime giant DP world has drawn criticism from the public as it take over 2/3 of far es Salaam port for the next 30 years. The emirati giant pledges to significantly reduce inefficiencies and promises that there will be no job losses but many locals are concerned about a loss of national sovereignty.
In the past DP world has set up similar operations. In Angola Djibouti Egypt Morocco, Mozambique Sénégal and Somalia.
