A video showing the process I use for ironing on tpu designs
Here I show the process for ironing on tpu designs to fabric for those who asked on my last post. I skipped the preparation and printing as there are better how-tos and videos out there for printing tpu.
To start I outline the design with glue so I know the area I need to apply the glue to. Then I apply the glue, flip it, add pressure until it is mostly darker showing good adhesion. Once it is stuck fairly well, I grab my putty knife and carefully scrape it from my bed. You can see how the dot stays in the correct alignment relative to the rest of the design.
Then I iron it on. I put parchment paper under the shirt to keep the other design from sticking to the table, and paper inside the shirt to prevent bleed through causing it to stick closed. If you notice, I peeled slightly early and some of it tried sticking to the parchment paper, a pause and pressure fixed this issue.
