This rifle hasn’t been fired in about 60 years, Need help understanding how this works.
Hello everyone! This .243 Sako belonged to my grandfather, and hasn’t been fired in 60 years. My father and I are firing it for the first time today, but we’ve been loading rounds directly into the chamber since we have no idea how the attached mechanism works. I had a theory that a piece was missing, maybe a clip or some odd sort of magazine? I’m not too familiar with rifles, shotguns are more of my cup of tea so any help would be greatly appreciated!
