Tired of the concept of "work ethic" only applying to employees and not employers
Somehow, I am expected to readily accept any and all stupid, pointless, and/or draconian detail about my position and be *happy* about it, but if I have any reservations with anything, suddenly I'm the problem. If I can't get through everything with a Joker-rictus smile and the expectation that I "take pride" in wasting most of my time doing something that I am not getting compensated anywhere close enough to bother, that is somehow a moral failing on *my* part, and I'm tired of that double standard.
For example, a factory job I applied for recently, they decided to spring during the filter call that this would be 12-hour 7-7 shifts (day or night) at minimum wage and being disallowed from leaving the premises during lunch hour or having a phone in your pocket (so sucks if you have an emergency call, I guess). The agent outright asked "Is that going to be a problem?" in an outright accusatory tone after explaining that, which again, was not in the original description. source
