Yes, George is incriminating himself by cleaning the boat. He is destroying evidence and hiding a crime. This makes him look very guilty or helping to hide a murder, even someone really killed Jeremy.

I think George was just trying to clean the fingerprints because he knew his own fingerprints were on the boat. By doing it, it made his action appear suspicious and very validly made it noticeable to himself, even though he didn't kill Jeremy.
