Should I replace my ASRock B650 Pro RS after the X3D burnout issues, or am I worrying too much?
I recently built a PC with a **Ryzen 7 7800X3D + ASRock B650 Pro RS** and after reading about some cases of X3D CPUs dying, especially related to motherboard BIOS settings and excessive SoC voltage, I started wondering if I should replace my motherboard while I still can.
I know that ASRock released multiple BIOS updates with newer AGESA versions, and I am already planning to keep my BIOS updated. However, I would like to know if changing the motherboard to another model would actually make sense at this point, or if the newer BIOS versions have basically solved the problem.
From what I understand, the main issue was related to **SoC voltage being too high**, especially with EXPO/X3D CPUs. I am using:
* **CPU:** Ryzen 7 7800X3D * **Motherboard:** ASRock B650 Pro RS * **RAM:** Goodram IRDM RGB Black DDR5 6000 MHz 32GB (2x16GB) * **Memory is not manually overclocked** * **CPU is not overclocked**
I use safe settings like:
* Latest BIOS * PBO Curve Optimizer **-20**
Is there anything else I should do to reduce the risk? Should I manually set SoC voltage instead of leaving it on Auto? Are there any other BIOS settings I should check?
Also, I would really appreciate feedback from people who are running the **same motherboard + 7800X3D combination**. How long have you been using it? Are you running EXPO/PBO? Have you experienced any problems?
If you think I should replace the B650 Pro RS, what motherboard would you recommend as a safer alternative? I am open to suggestions.
