which versions of the newer generations should i play?
i’ve never played the games before, but really wanted to get into it, so i decided to do a run of gen 3 all the way up through gen 9. i’m currently playing emerald on my PC, and i got an AYN Thor for the gens released on DS and 3DS (and maybe Switch, we’ll see how that goes). here’s my current plan:
Emerald (playing), Platinum, B2/W2, X/Y, Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, Sword/Shield, Legends: Arceus, Scarlet/Violet, Legends A-Z
i don’t particularly want to play both versions of the games that don’t have an enhanced version, i don’t really have the free time to dedicate to two separate playthroughs. my main goals are to get a good bit of pokemon (i love cool looking ones) and if possible get all 3 starters in one playthrough (for emerald i just traded with myself on separate files).
suggestions for which versions of each? does it really matter or is it gonna be which legendary(ies) i want to catch? and finally would a handheld emu like the Thor be good for switch games or should those be done on the PC?
