Paid a shop to change the oil in my truck. They installed the wrong drain plug and it started leaking. Now I need a new oil pan.
Took my 2024 Sierra in for a routine oil change. A little while later I noticed oil underneath the truck.
Turns out they had installed the wrong drain plug with the wrong thread pitch. Thankfully I caught it before I lost enough oil to cause any damage to the engine, but now I need a new oil pan!
