I bought a T1N sprinter and WOAH MAMA here comes my financial anxiety

It got delivered on Friday and now it’s real.

I’m swinging wildly between excitement and dread! Some days I feel like I made a great choice, did my due diligence, and chose a nice starter van. Some days I feel like I bought myself a hole in the road to throw money into. Any advice or words of encouragement for a newbie would be greatly appreciated.

It’s got 260,000 miles on it, the carfax is clean and shows regular maintenance, the head gasket and fuel injectors both got replaced less than 20,000 miles ago, and the vehicle spent its entire life in South Carolina and is remarkably rust free. It’s mostly built out: bed platform, insulation, flooring, wall panels, storage, ceiling vent (and a giant AC unit I plan to remove), backup camera, and shore power + electrical set up. I got a PPI before buying and there’s no codes, no smoke, it started up immediately in very cold weather, and it idles smooth.

I bought it outright for $8100, which equates to about 4 months of saving for me so if it blows up next month I can tell myself at least it didn’t put a huge dent in my savings/at least I didn’t go into debt for it. Budgeting $1500 for updating the build and $2000 for repairs and maintenance. I’m pretty handy and prepared to do as much of my own maintenance as possible.
