Something’s definitely wrong here. How the hell does China have more KFC”s than the U.S. Col Sanders is a pure blood southern.
KFC has become a global brand and China is a vast country. Thankfully for KFC and franchisees, the Kentucky Colonel's mother's recipe has appeal beyond the American South.
Interesting to note that many cuisines include dishes that are battered, crumb-coated, shallow- or deep-fried, so entry to overseas markets wasn't so difficult.
Additionally, western brands carry a certain cachet in other parts of the world.
