Among other damage reports: the St. John's Regional Medical Hospital sustained a direct hit that twisted the entire building counter-clockwise by about 6 inches. It had to be torn down afterward. Five people died inside because they were hooked up to life support and the power went out. There was no time to evacuate.
Elsewhere, an 18-wheeler was thrown 125 yards and wrapped like a garden hose completely around a debarked tree.
Concrete parking stops sunk 3 feet deep and anchored with steel rebar, meant to protect the fronts of buildings, were ripped out of the parking lots and thrown 60 yards. #fun
