With that being said, this is what it is currently showing for next Wednesday, August 21. For the sake of expediency, Dallas is roughly situated at the "113" between 109 and 112 near the center of the image.
Granted, this is still over a week away, but the models (not just the GFS) have consistently shown this late summer heatwave being the most intense at this period of time. If we hit 113ยบ, we will match the all-time high for Dallas which has only been officially registered twice - both in 1980. The following day is shown to get up to 112, so it is \*possible\* that we may tie that loathsome record. I have been using these modelers since last summer and at no point then do I recall them predicting this level of heat this soon. The good news is that it also looks like this will be the breaking of the intense heat, and that we will begin returning to normal/near normal temperatures by the end of next weekend.
But, again, this is still more than a week away and air temperature is near impossible to perfectly predict. Nevertheless, get your errands done early in the day next week, minimize how much time you have to spend outside, drink lots of water, etc. #local
