1) American Greetings: I bought a reusable sticker sheet that ended up being mismatched (vehicle stickers instead of the sea creature stickers to go with the ocean playmat). I was sent a coupon to redeem for a free item <$5 as an apology!
2) Architectural Mailboxes: My mailbox door cracked at the fastening point and the door came off. Even though I was 4 months past the 3-year warranty, with a little polite insistence from me, they sent me a replacement unit free of charge!
3) Goody: Purchased an 8-pack of scrunchies for a stocking stuffer. In the past week, the elastic within two of scrunchies snapped, rendering them unusable. Goody offered to replace with an item of comparable value and mailed out completely free of charge.
4) Roku: Our main living room tv had a sudden backlight outage. This issue was not repairable. The tv was 2 years old and only had a 1 year warranty. I requested a manufacturer coupon to offset the cost of replacement and Roku ended up sending me the newer replacement model for free, including set-up on delivery!
Moral of the story, always contact the manufacturer when you have an issue! It usually only takes 5min, can typically be done by email, and it will save you money on replacements! #finance source
