Blood Meridian- McCarthy's Prose
Currently reading Blood Meridian after reading No Country for Old Men. I found NC-OM to be more palatable and easier to read through the story as he explains events in a unique and distinguished prose that doesn't follow standard grammatical structures while still being incredibly written and challenging for the reader's full attention to make sense of it all.
Currently on Chapter 11, I'm at a loss for Blood Meridian however, not only for its illustrations of the landscapes(some of them) but also for depictions of the setting, the history surrounding it, and certain events of describing characters and their actions. It goes from one event to the next without proper context(Despite knowing its intentionality with the way its subtly written). I feel I am at a loss or confused for certain events and am not understanding the depth taking place within them.
Just need some advice on how some of you navigated his prose in this book or maybe it's too much for my dum dum brain. There are some brilliant writing that keeps me going.
**TLDR: Advice needed how to read this Western masterpiece to make sense of scenes and events.**
