Need advice - leave private university and join a Bachelor’s as backup?
Hi everyone,
I’m an Indian student in Germany currently studying M.A. Architecture at SRH Hamburg.
Im in 2nd semester and the degree is only of 3 semesters , however i failed 2 modules so im asked to retake an entire semester and thus pay 5100 euros extra for that
So to avoid that
I have applied for Master’s programs at KIT, TU Darmstadt, and Hochschule Wismar. My applications are still under review.
The problem is that if I stay at SRH, I may have to pay around €10,000 more in tuition fees, which I don’t want to do.
If I don’t get admission to a public university Master’s this year,
I’m thinking about:
\- Leaving SRH
\- Joining a low-cost public university Bachelor’s program
\- Continuing to apply for public university Master’s programs for Winter 2027
\- Switching to a Master’s once I get admitted
That means i switch my university twice
Masters (Pvt uni) -> Bachelors (public uni) -> Masters (Public uni)
Has anyone done something similar?
Will changing from one university to another, and then later to a Master’s, create visa or residence permit problems?
What would you do in my situation?
