Grandfather’s 3-Screw Blackhawk finally getting some attention
My grandfather was an avid hunter from the 1960s through the 80s. I inherited his collection around November and have been slowly going through everything, giving each firearm the care and attention it deserves. No safe queens as long as I have my say.
Tonight it was this old Ruger Blackhawk (three‑screw) in .357 Magnum. After decades in the safe, it finally got a careful cleaning.
It’s a privilege being the current caretaker of these pieces, and my goal is to keep them running strong for the next generation.
Balanced recoil and a wonderfully smooth action give this sturdy revolver a lot of character easily one of my favorite shooters.
If you look closely, you can see the holster wear from my grandfather carrying it. As you can see, he was actually a left-handed Shooter. #weapons source
