This is my first console purchase and I don't know what I'm doing. My boyfriend needs a newer Xbox console to play some online game with friends. He'd never ask me to spend all that money on him but he "joked" about wanting one for Christmas, and then changed his list to boring stuff like slippers and pajamas. I caught him looking at Black Friday sales, and he lingers at it whenever we go to Target. I decided I wanted to see his face light up and snuck out last night to buy the Xbox series X Diablo bundle thing. Now this morning I see him looking at a used Xbox series **S** on facebook marketplace. I asked whether it wasn't more worth it to get the new one, and he goes, "there's not too much difference, it's a big step up from the Xbox 1". Well shit, I just dropped $400. Is he just saying that because he doesn't have the money for the X? Or is there really not much difference?? Will the X work for all the same online games as the S? I just wanted to see him happy since he doesn't get to see family for the holidays, but I can still return it if I made a mistake. I thought the X was the better one but if the S is the same, maybe he'll be mad I spent all that money. When I google the differences it's a lot of gamer language I don't fully get. Should I get the S one? Or just say fuck it and buy him something else? I'm going on vacation without him next week (he can't because of work) so I thought I'd gift it early so he has something to do, but I won't be able to return it after that. Any advice appreciated! #games source
