A Russian ballistic strike on railway infrastructure in…

A Russian ballistic strike on railway infrastructure in Kyiv killed seven people, including six employees of Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine’s state rail operator. 🚆

The strike destroyed an industrial workshop at a rail depot, according to the company’s chief. Another rail worker was hospitalised, while dozens reached shelters in time.

Traffic on two rail corridors was temporarily restricted after the attack but was later restored. The disruption underlines the operational risks faced by a network that carries passengers and freight during the war. ⚠️

Rail is also part of the EU–Ukraine Solidarity Lanes, the road, rail and waterway routes used to keep imports and exports moving when normal routes are disrupted. Emergency and restoration work at the Kyiv facility was continuing. 🇺🇦
