If I Am The Mayor of My Place
My town in Loo, Bohol Philippines is now experiencing the very high range of all the commodities and even the product of our own local sea. We are surrounded by the sea and aquatic resources have an abundance of fishes and other sea products but the government is not doing well for the people. Our place is one of the many target of tourist. It is also one of the reason of having expensive product in the market.
What I didn't like is that the government is in favor to the third party business partner. They manipulate the market system. They don't allow the fisherman sell their production direct to the vendor in the market like before. From the sea or the fisherman, they sold it to the friends of government official business partner before reselling to the the vendor in the market. They controlled the system. I remember when I was young, we went to the fisherman and we bought direct to them withy grandfather but now, the business men manipulate the system with the help of the local government leader.
In this case, If ever I will be chosen as a mayor of my town, I will impose the old system and I will be in favor to the farmers too. I will pass a resolution to the people to cultivate their farm and the fisherman will not sell their products to third party.
I noticed last 2022 vacation, there were few people cultivating their farm . We need to buy even vegetables. Before, we neighbors like my mother when she was alive, she had a lot of root crops and vegetables. But now even my sister do not have farm anymore . Our hectare of land became a small forest and I was afraid of going inside as I am afraid the attack of big snakes.
That's the platform I will impose to my constituent if I am supposed to be the mayor of our town βΊοΈβΊοΈβΊοΈ
