The Miagao Church, also known as the Santo Tomas de Villanueva Parish Church, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a national treasure of the Philippines. Built in the late 18th century, the church showcases the fusion of Spanish Baroque and Filipino indigenous design elements. Its massive limestone façade features intricate bas-reliefs and carvings that depict biblical scenes, as well as local flora and fauna. The church also has a fortress-like appearance, with thick walls, small windows, and buttresses, to protect it from frequent Moro pirate attacks.
