Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) was a prominent Indian actor, director, producer, and politician, best known as the founder of the Telugu Desam Party and a three-time Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He was a superstar of Telugu cinema, starring in over 250 films and becoming known for his versatile roles, particularly as mythological characters like Lord Krishna. After a long and successful film career, he entered politics in 1982 and led his party to power, ousting the Congress party which had ruled the state for 27 years.

Political achievement : His party was the first regional party to serve as the main opposition party in the Lok Sabha.
