Saudi Arabia is set to invest $500 million in a new global T20 league aimed at rivaling the IPL. Named the "Grand Slam of Cricket," the league will follow a Grand Slam-style format, with teams competing four times a year in different countries.

The initiative, led by former Australian cricketer Neil Maxwell, seeks to create fresh revenue streams for weaker cricket boards while preserving Test cricket. SRJ Sports Investments, headed by Danny Townsend, will be the primary investor, with franchises from Australia and Saudi Arabia included.

While the final is expected to take place in Saudi Arabia, organizers face hurdles, including securing approvals from the ICC, Australian Cricket Board, and BCCI. Reports suggest the league will have a dedicated window to avoid clashing with other major T20 tournaments.
