The Merlin bird app listens for birds making sounds and identifies the species. I've been using the mic on my iPhone 17 Pro Max to listen, and I know its missing a lot that I hear with my ear. Solution? Get a better mic for the phone.

if he could help mount this to my helmet and he was absolutely no assistance at all. In fact, I think he may have insulted me. I'm going to try a pair of wireless DJI mics today and if that is improvement I'll try a shotgun mic mounted to my helmet or my bike and slurp up allllllll the birds.
