Possible Gaming Ban vs Parents Responsibility
I actually just wanted some clarity over this topic, since I have listened to other views on the matter. It’s been in my mind for weeks now, and I wanted to know everyone’s opinions too.
**My take is that it’s the parent’s responsibility to monitor what media their children is exposed to, and educate them what is okay vs not okay to copy. That media shouldn’t adjust for the lack of parenting a child receives.** (Example: Youtube changing so much rules for children, ruining the experience for many)
Someone told me “**What about children with both working parents, too busy to actually do any parenting to provide food on the table? I can’t blame the parents either.**”
And I guess it stuck with me. I’m a person with both working parents, enough that me and them are not close at all to provide me with the level of education I receive. I’ve always been independent aside from financial expenses. I’ve been exposed to media and I turned out okay. Even playing GTA, Counter Strike, and the like.
I know that the economy is horrible enough that it feels impossible to live comfortably nowadays, **but isn’t it still the responsibility of the parents? I get that they’re busy keeping the family alive… but maybe they shouldn’t have had a child instead?**
**What’s the point in wanting a child when you can’t be a proper parent to them?**
I feel **so lost** in this line of thinking, and I want respectful inputs of if I should starting looking at it a different way
