Hi, my name is Thomas, and I backed it “for the gameplay.”
I think it’s time we start a support group.
Not for drinking.
Not for gambling.
For clicking “Notify Me on Launch.”
Welcome to Crowdfunding & Board Game Buying Anonymous.
Step 1: Admit that you do not, in fact, need another mid-weight euro with “innovative mechanics.”
Step 2: Accept that “deluxe components” are not a personality trait.
Step 3: Stop pretending you were “supporting the designer” when you added the $89 sundrop minis.
We meet every Tuesday night.
Agenda includes:
• Sharing the moment you upgraded to the all-in pledge because “shipping was basically free at that point.”
• Confessing you’ve said, “This one scales great at two!” while your shelf buckled behind you.
• Practicing deep breathing when stretch goals unlock double-layer player boards.
There will be a safe space for:
• People who own 15 farming games but insist they’re “mechanically distinct.”
• Those who backed a reprint because it had new art.
• Anyone who has ever justified a purchase by saying, “I’ll just sell something else.” (You won’t.)
Snacks will be provided. They will be stored in an empty big box expansion you bought for the 10 extra modules you’ll never use.
