Have you ever lost a drone? What happened? Did the crash-proof do anything?
How common is it actually to lose or seriously damage a drone? I'm talking stuff like losing signal and not being able to find it, or clipping a tree or building and destorying it.
From what I've seen, most newer drones seem to depend a lot on GPS and RTH to prevent getting lost, which makes sense. But obstacle avoidance still feels a lot less convincing once you're flying around trees, buildings, trails, etc.
I know some models have infrared or vision-based obstacle avoidance, but as a beginner I don't know if I'd trust that 100% in real-world conditions.
So I'm curious what people's real-world flying experience has been. #technology
