China in Africa
There a documentary I have seen on Twitter about Chinese contractor in Congo explaining to a Congolese why Congo is in such a bad State.
And to be honest the Chinese guy did say some things that were true, so I decided to go to YouTube and watch the whole documentary and I had to no idea this was sort of bait for racist to project lol their fantasies about low IQ and such.
Me I come from Gambia a west African country on the coast and we had some issues with China illegal harvesting. The scale of the illegal harvesting and smuggling was recently revealed in a report by the Environmental Investigation Agency, which found that approximately 1.6 million rosewood trees were illegally logged in the Casamance and exported from the Gambia to China between June 2012 and April 2020. After the publication of EIA’s report in June, $5.4 million worth of rosewood was imported by China from the Gambia in July and August 2020, according to the latest data obtained by EIA. Now I have heard talks about what China and Africa and what it is really in Africa for. I heard debt traps Kenya, Zambia, Uganda. Even the African Union headquarters (Which by the way a very useless organization) was a donation from China to invest in Africa development, later we found out it bugged with wires the surveillance was believed to have begun in 2012 and digital backdoors installed in the building's electronics during construction. A lot of others things I have read especially in Southern African countries. I wanna heard the the opinion of other Africans on this what is the relation with China and Africa and do you trust it.
